Earthquake in Haiti

On January 12th, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, leaving the country devastated, socially, economically, and emotionally. This is yet another example of the importance of UBC Red Cross’s 2009-10 appeal for the International Disaster Relief Fund, which lends immediate help to unexpected natural disasters such as the earthquake in Haiti. Please continue to support us as we aid the Red Cross in providing immediate response within hours of any emergency. Due to the urgency in Haiti, a separate donation box is called for, and the money will go separately to the people of Haiti as they face these hard times.

Look for our booth at the SUB on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Jan 18th- 20th) for donation by will. Please give generously. Your help can’t wait.

Other ways you can help: Canadians are encouraged to make a financial donation to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake fund. Donations can be made online at www.redcross.ca/helpnow , by calling toll free 1-800-418-1111 or at any Red Cross office. Cheques should be earmarked Haiti Earthquake.

Get Ready for an Amazing Second Term!!

Interested in MEMBERSHIP?

YES! You can still join the club. If you would like to sign up, please drop by WOODWARD room B75 (basement) on Wednesdays, between 5:00-6:00PM with your membership fee ($5).

New System for Volunteer Hours

Due to popular demand, we have started a new system where volunteers can keep track of their hours and receive recognition. We will have copies of our Volunteer Hour Form at our event booths, if you have signed up to volunteer, please make sure you ask for the form AND obtain signature of an exec BEFORE you leave. In order for us to be fair, any volunteer time without a signature cannot be recognized.

Members should keep the form with them and bring it whenever they volunteer. Towards the end of the year, members can bring in their forms to our General Member Meeting and we will enter the number into our records.
